Bryan Brief Header
👋 Hey y'all, George here. Back home, jet-lagged, and the mailbag is FULL. Y'all sent in a stack of questions after the UK trip: the coffee content with Lance Hedrick, how many rounds we actually played, how the body's holding up, and what's next. Running through all of it below. Plus a shoutout we owe a certain Englishman.
P.S. Major Cut Royal Birkdale episode 2 just dropped. Link inside 👀

P.P.S. Y’all will notice the photos this week are all shapes and sizes. They were too cool to crop :D
☕ How the Lance Hedrick thing came about
George, Grant and Wesley outside the St Andrews clubhouse
Lance popped up in our comments last year, right when I was getting into coffee. Looked him up and... oh. This guy's a coffee legend. He's a golf fan, I'm a coffee guy, and we've stayed in touch ever since. So we brought him in as our personal barista for Major Cut St Andrews. Great espressos, big vibes, coffee knowledge colliding with the golf world. Main takeaway: I've got a LONG way to go before I brew anywhere near the cup of Joe that guy makes.
🚶 17 rounds in 21 days... the honest body report
George walking a links fairway
Best I can count: 17 rounds in 21 days. Almost all walking. The most golf I've ever crammed into three weeks, and the body was disheveled on that flight home.

The wild part? Zero pain. After that first qualifier (my first full-speed golf in three months) I woke up thinking this is not good. Rested two days, eased back in... then 54 holes of final qualifying with no pain at all. It held up the whole trip. The PT, the rehab, the strengthening: it worked.

What I did lose is speed. So I'm straight back into speed sessions and workouts. Time to get the power back.
🎒 Shoutout to an absolute legend
Finchy on the bag for Wes
One thing we're NOT waiting on: a massive shoutout to Peter Finch. Finchy grabbed the bag for Wes TWICE in the last two weeks. Once at final qualifying, once at the last chance qualifier. Walking every hole, in the trenches both times. Absolute legend behavior, mate.
🔜 What the next few weeks look like
The crew: Grant, George, Wesley and the videographers
Honestly? It's all about YGT. We film the next event in a few weeks, and I've got two jobs: get the body right, get the game WAY better. Y'all saw the first YGT. I played awful, and it did not sit well with me. So these next two weeks are a grind. I'm coming out firing, and I'm coming to win.

The bump and run 👀
Presented by V1 Sports

Fresh Open week, so Pelli's at the famed North Berwick West Links breaking down the shot links golf is built on 👀

The setup:

  • Grab a 9 iron or pitching wedge
  • Ball a touch back of middle
  • Handle up, slightly forward

The key:

  • Don't create too much ball speed
  • Keep the swing smooth — almost like a putt
  • Bump it, let it run, watch it feed to the pin

The links golf cheat code.

👉 Haven't submitted your swing yet?

That's it for this week's Bryan Brief.
