👋 Hey y’all - George here... I’ve got a pretty ridiculous Augusta story that I don’t think I’ve ever properly told. It somehow involves me as a 14-year-old hitting driver into 17 and the Chairman of Augusta National talking about it in a press conference.
We’ll get into that below. But first, Rory just went back-to-back, Sunday got chaotic, and Augusta did what it always does. Let’s get into it.
P.S. If your driver feels inconsistent, this week’s Tip of the Week is all about fixing your setup — head position, shoulders, and a simple mirror + alignment stick drill. Want your swing reviewed by my coach Pelli? Submit it below.

💭 We couldn’t pick just one
Going into the week, it wasn’t just one guy.
Rahm -> friend of the channel, easy to root for. Bryson -> still wild saying “fellow YouTuber”. Justin Rose -> felt like a redemption story waiting to happen. And honestly… we kind of wanted an underdog. Augusta always feels better when something unexpected happens. 👉 My Prediction at the time: Matt Fitzpatrick. |

🏆 Rory just… got it done
Rory McIlroy goes back-to-back, but it wasn’t clean. He lost a six-shot lead earlier in the week, got pushed hard by Rose on Sunday, and still had Scheffler right there late — and somehow still closes it out.
That’s Augusta. It’s not just who’s playing best… it’s who handles those moments when everything starts moving. |

📉 It flipped fast on Sunday
Sunday felt like it was slipping early. Rose grabs the lead, the crowd gets into it, and the whole leaderboard tightens up — then just like that Rory birdies 7 and 8 and flips it straight back.
From there it felt like once he had control again… he wasn’t giving it up. |

⛳ This story still makes no sense
Quick one before this — Hootie Johnson (Chairman of Augusta National at the time) was basically the guy in charge of the course. First time playing Augusta as a 14/15-year-old, I hit driver → basically wedge into 17 and told him after the round.
Few days later I’m getting calls from a state newspaper… turns out he mentioned it in a press conference as part of the reason they wanted to lengthen the course. Was it actually because of me? Probably not 😂 but technically… I’ve got a tiny role in Augusta getting longer. |

🔥 These two never miss
13 and 15. No debate. Risk/reward, eagles, doubles — everything can change in two swings.
If something crazy is going to happen on Sunday… it’s usually right there. |

👀 Augusta in person is different
(lol at that image)...we were out there Friday walking the grounds and if you’ve never been… TV doesn’t do it justice.
Everything’s tighter, faster, louder — the slopes, the speed, the atmosphere… it all hits different when you’re standing there. Any of y'all went? |
